Hotel dining that doesn’t feel like a hotel.
The Challenge
Create a restaurant guests seek out — without it feeling like a “hotel restaurant.”
Wildly Original Move
Built a storybook-inspired Americana brand rooted in nostalgia, warmth, and literary charm — designed to feel local, familiar, and timeless.
Result
Fully realized and distinctive F&B brand experience.

The Challenge
Hotel restaurants tend to exist out of convenience. Polished and predictable, they’re designed for traveling guests to pass through rather than for regulars to come back. Without a community to call their own, these restaurants rarely have the character that makes a dining experience worth remembering. Our challenge was creating something that felt part of the neighborhood, even though it lived inside the hotel.

Wildly Original Move
Rather than chasing the vaguely overdone “Americana” restaurant vibe, we anchored the brand to a narrative. Haley & Bear became a story waiting to be told. Inspired by literary classics like Old Yeller and Where the Red Fern Grows, we brought the brand to life like a storybook. One with the kind of loyalty and warmth that stays with you. From the illustrations to the typography, every detail told the same story in a different way.

Results
A hotel restaurant that felt familiar before you even sat down. And a couple ADDY Awards from the American Advertising Federation.
